Kaufman’s Army & Navy – An Example of Bad Web Design For July 23, 2012
July 23rd, 2012 1:01 am by Vincent Flanders
Submitter’s comments: When I was a kid, these guys had tons of odd army surplus stuff in their mail order catalog. Somehow they didn’t make the transition to the Web.
Vincent Flanders’ comments: Let me paraphrase the New York Times’ comments: “Kaufman’s Army & Navy website is a musty, chaotic place.”
The home page is a needless Flash-Splash page that doesn’t show up on mobile devices and leads to another Flash-Splash page which autoloads the page we’re discussing. There’s no navigation, just one long page. One long page that doesn’t have any kind of selling proposition.

Your history may be interesting to someone, but not me, because it does not help me find what I am looking for.
A few pictures (or even a grainy video of 3 women cavorting in a bathtub - ok, that wouldn't help but it would be more interesting) would help me figure out what you sell, but there aren't any, so unless I read the entire site, I get no help in buying what I am looking for.
There does seem to be a common theme here, right? Start over, and let someone who knows what he is doing build your site.

Anybody here also peruse http://clientsfromhell.net/ ? I look at the Suckers and think "potential client"! Then I realize the reason they've got the sites they do is because they are likely the type of client that site describe: One who advertises on Craig's LIst, and wants it all, but isn't willing to pay more than $100. (Total.)

What are you? and What hours are you open?
This site fails at this. Oh, it is there, but the challenge is to find it.
